Tyler, you have absolutely done it again. This book of poetry will be on my bookshelf by my bedside for years and years to come. The moment I got it, I could not put it down.To other fans of Tyler, these poems are typically longer than some of his past books. A lot of time and thought seems to have gone into the selection of each piece. There is a deep intillectual touch on every work which in this book goes beyond love but into life, purpose, direction, appreciation, and joy to name a few.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a wonderful American poet.
I love his other books. (I own them all) but this one had me skipping pages and lines. It felt really intentional and deliberate ... not at all organic. My favorite poem was actually a rewrite of an original poem either posted on his instagram or of a different book. Each "poem" in this book seemed like a short ramble of "outdoor words". Waves, ocean, sea, depths, lightning, thunder, river, flowing, sand, wash away, survive / survivor / survival, sail, wandering, wanderlust, walking, wood, ...... nearly every page. I felt like I was reading a book that was written by someone in their late teens/early twenties that "felt inspired" after they spent a weekend in a fire lookout in the pacific northwest.Tyler is amazing regardless... but this missed the mark for me.
This book is the wide open heart of a one in a million human being poured onto paper. It is slices of the human experience laid out in words and breathtaking photography. It is love and longing and loss and all of the feelings in between. It opened my mind to more wonder than I remembered existed and reminded me that I was alive. If you like poetry, or are a human with a beating heart, buy this book. I guarantee that many if not all of it will touch you on a personal level in some way or another. It's a must have.
Love Tyler knott Gregson’s poetry. This book was amazing just as all his books are. I bought one for myself and some for friends. I don’t know what else to say besides read his work. You’ll find parts of yourself in it. I promise you will. Just keep reading. Wonderful book

TKG has grown and become even more amazing if that is even possible,. It isn't always sunshine and roses, but his writing is dripping with HOPE. He has saved my life on more than one occasion and I give out volumes of his poetry as lifelines and gifts to those who need it. I will share everything of his because I believe in his writing deep in my bones. I will ALWAYS chase the Light.
